NORCROSS, GA – April 10, 2008 – Simtrol, Inc. (OTCBB: SMRL), an innovative developer of Device Management Software (DMS), today announced the release of Simtrol Visitor™ V1.0, a video visitation software application that enables correctional facilities of all types to conduct inmate visitations with enhanced safety and cost-effectiveness. Simtrol Visitor streamlines the process of scheduling and conducting visits and provides capability to monitor and record visitations.
Visitor joins Arraigner™, a Simtrol application that combines digital video arraignment with workflow and document management technologies, as part of the company’s suite of telejustice solutions. Both applications are powered by Simtrol’s flagship DMS product that controls, monitors, diagnoses, services, and schedules controllable devices such as display monitors, video cameras, and medical equipment from a broad range of hardware suppliers.
“Correctional facilities across the nation are overcrowded and are adding large numbers of controllable devices onto their IT networks to increase efficiencies and the level of public safety. This device proliferation has occurred not only in the government sector but in many other vertical markets as well. The inherent complexity associated with managing devices from multiple manufacturers – both existing and new – represents a significant market opportunity for Simtrol across numerous vertical markets”, commented Bill Joyce, Simtrol’s Executive Vice President of Operations.
