  Simtrol Adds Major Product Enhancements

  July 25, 2006

NORCROSS, GA – Simtrol, Inc. (OTCBB: SMRL) today announced a Flash® development environment for its OnGoer™ device control software and Open Monitoring Interface (OMI) for its OnGuard device monitoring software. It also announced Directors Larry Carr and Ed Redstone have exercised a combined total of $250,000 in stock options.

Chairman Larry Carr stated: “As evidenced by yesterday’s announcement of the release of Curiax™ digital arraignment software, Simtrol continues to rapidly advance its software capabilities to help our customers penetrate exciting new vertical markets. Exercising these stock options provides the company additional working capital to turn these efforts into value for our shareholders. I am excited about my investment and appreciate the support from Director Redstone.”

“Directors Carr and Redstone are Simtrol’s two largest individual shareholders and I greatly appreciate their continued financial support and business leadership”, commented Rick Egan, Simtrol’s Chief Executive Officer. “Unstoppable commoditization has led to a rapid decline in hardware prices and a vast expansion of vertical applications that blend rich hardware / device offerings with powerful software. Examples of these include plasma and LCD displays in airports, hotel lobbies and shopping malls showcasing digital media; video camera technology providing security or traffic regulation; and, hotels providing touch panels and multimedia amenities in their rooms.

“We firmly believe the market is beginning a shift away from companies that require customers to purchase proprietary touch panels and controllers and towards software solutions that run on open PC hardware. Most hardware markets begin with proprietary leaders and, over time, commoditization leads to the emergence of a software leader. We believe this trend favors us and are confident we add value to exciting vertical markets such as law enforcement, healthcare, digital signage, education, corporate communications, retail and hospitality. We look forward to working with clients such as First Technology, TEi and others that invest in software development and see the value of leveraging our new Flash and OMI capabilities into their applications”, Mr. Egan added.

OnGoer now supports Macromedia Flash® – the world's most pervasive software platform, reaching more than 97% of desktops worldwide. Because Flash® is a web-friendly development environment, programmers can now leverage Simtrol’s engine to Macintosh, Windows, Unix, Linux, Cell Phone, and PDA operating systems. Architecturally, the control platform can reside on a single server allowing in-room control via a standard web browser while Flash-based user interfaces can reside on any operating system, allowing connections to the control system over the existing IP infrastructure.

Simtrol developed OMI because, for many years, control systems have been isolated and unmonitored. AMX, Crestron, and other control system companies attempted to address this issue by offering proprietary monitoring software that only monitors their own systems. Most corporations have control systems from multiple companies and, therefore, multiple monitoring systems. OMI eliminates this inefficiency because all proprietary control systems can be aggregated under OnGuard’s monitoring and control platform. This provides customers the ability to manage their legacy installations while providing a migration path towards open hardware and software implementations.

Simtrol develops and sells deviceware – a unique form of middleware that ties devices to applications using open standard interfaces. This enables companies to control, monitor, diagnose, schedule and manage devices in a powerful, uniform way. The Company’s products are used in a number of vertical markets including healthcare, law enforcement, digital signage, education, corporate, hospitality and residential. Simtrol sells to a number of Fortune 1000 corporations, government entities, educational systems and other end users through professional system integrators, value added resellers (VARs) and other distributors who are supported by the Company’s sales and technical support staff.
